CORPUS DISEGNO - AN EXHIBITION OF DRAWINGS BY MADELEINE GERA
1-23 November 2019
A second exhibiton sees the return of artist Madeleine Gera to the Malta Postal Museum. She has gathered a collection of fine drawings, mainly nudes and portraits that were executed during her studies abroad and later on in Malta. They are personal and rather idiosyncratic reflecting a given mood or style. In fact they are a private peep into her sketch books and portfolio revealing at one an artist who enjoys experimentation and the creation of tension while capturing the essence of her sitters.
Anyone wishing to attend the vernissage on 1 November at 19.00hrs, please call 25961750.
PIONEERING EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY: Postal photographs by Richard Ellis c. 1920
Our First Floor Gallery is showing a photographic exhibition of a number of rare black and white photos taken in the early 1920's by English photographer Richard Ellis. The prints focus exclusively on the General Post Office in Merchant's Street and also take us behind the scenes to the sorting rooms where Malta's mail was readied for dispatching.
