PERSIAN EYES - PHOTOGRAPHY AND POETRY EXHIBITION
2 - 30 October 2019
The Malta Postal Museum is delighted to be hosting an exhibition of photography and poetry by Franco/Maltese artist Elizabeth Guyon Spennato. Guyon's photographs capture the sheer depth and beauty of Persian eyes but also and more importantly, peer into and unveil the Iranian soul.
These eyes belong to the so called "Burnt Generation" - people born between 1966 and 1990, who experienced the effects of the 1979 Revolution, followed by the Iran/Iraq War. The accompanying poetry lends each image a powerful eloquence.
PIONEERING EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY: Postal photographs by Richard Ellis c. 1920
Our First Floor Gallery is showing a photographic exhibition of a number of rare black and white photos taken in the early 1920's by English photographer Richard Ellis. The prints focus exclusively on the General Post Office in Merchant's Street and also take us behind the scenes to the sorting rooms where Malta's mail was readied for dispatching.
